TEXT: Ephesians 4:1-21

Memory Verse: Ephesians 4:1 “As a prisoner for the Lord, then, I urge to live a life worthy of the calling you have received”

Our calling as believers is unique and precious and it is better to see it that way. It is to yield our lives as a living sacrifice. This vocation is a full–time employment (24/7). There is no room for part-timers or contract staff. Also, if a man must be certified worthy, there is a way to walk it. Christianity is a walk and a lifestyle from one glory to another even as we behold Him as a mirror, the glory of the Lord. Though a walk, yet in a pattern from one depth to a deeper one and not one step is against the other. Still in one body, one spirit, one hope, one faith, one Lord. Therefore, no one grows to a point that his or her life cannot be examined by the one mirror – the Word of God.

How do we walk worthy? By seeing ourselves as “prisoners” of the Lord. When He ascended on high, He led captivity free (Eph 4:8) when He delivered us out of darkness into His marvelous light, it is not for a free lifestyle but a light lifestyle. Prisoners have the prison’s terms and conditions; failure to live by that vocation attracts discipline. Though we are God’s children, heirs of the Kingdom of God and joint heirs with Christ, we are captives of the Lord; slaves of righteousness; clay in the potter’s hand; called to become like Jesus. We have an obligation to live as He wants us to live. Gal 5; 1 John 2,3,4&5.

Conclusively, sing the hymn EMHB 516 – When we walk with the Lord

PRAYER: Lord, please grant me the grace to walk with You just as You will bid me. Amen.
