God said to Moses, “I-AM-WHO-I-AM. Tell the People of Israel, ‘I-AM sent me to you.”
If there is anything you should know about God, it is the fact that He is God. He is exactly what He proclaims Himself to be – God. He doesn’t need any approval or anybody’s opinion to confirm the fact that He is God. He makes boast of it, He says it. When Moses asked Him what His name is, He replied, “I AM WHO I AM”. You know, if you met me in person and asked who I am and I replied with the reply God gave Moses, you’d think me to be crazy, right? But God’s identity about who He is just undeniable. No matter all your theories and hypothesis or whatever it is you come up with, it doesn’t even change a thing about who God is. For emphasis sake, nothing about God changes whether or not you believe Him to be God.
Just because God is God, He does whatever He does; however He pleases – regardless of our feelings and sentiments. For example, God is not a respecter of persons (Acts 10:34). Peter said this because of how God chose what he, a Jew, deemed unclean and unfit, to be called His own. God is not picky; He only does what He wants. Sometimes, He uses the littlest of things or even the weakest of things to confound the biggest or the strongest of things just to show that He is God and very unquestionable. I mean, who could have thought that a Lamb could rescue the souls of men? Who could have thought that Abraham at age 100 and Sarah at age 90 would have children? He just totally confounded science! These guys are even older than most of our grandparents! Look, “For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts”(Isaiah 55:9).
You know, when we want things from God and we don’t get, we get really offended and all with God. There was a time in my life I felt like that. I was really disappointed. I discovered on hindsight that there is God’s will and that it is exactly what God chooses to be that will be, not what you feel like you want. He’s not moved by our feelings. He just does what He wills. You might be wondering, how pleasing is God’s will for me? “It doesn’t make any sense! Every other person is doing stuff the other way, why do I have to go this way, Lord?” Sweethearts, the will of God is just perfect! The thoughts that He has towards you are good thoughts and not evil. So before He makes any decision or carries out anything about you, He already knew what’s best for you, because He is God. Trust God instead.
