THEME: GRIEVE NOT THE SPIRIT OF GOD
TEXT: Eph 4:28-32
Memory Verse: Eph 4:30 “And do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, with whom you are sealed for the day of redemption”
The secret of our living is the Holy Spirit. What we lost when Adam sinned by eating the forbidden fruit was the Holy Spirit. Also what returns at the point of conversion a few regeneration is the Holy Spirit. So the whole strength, wisdom, power and authority of believers rest solely on the Holy Spirit. Consequently, just as blood, water, bones and muscles are important to the human body, so is the Holy Spirit to a believer. He awakens and quickens our mortal body, connects our spirit with God and makes our mind (soul) have rest by renewing it every day. The Holy Spirit is Omniscient (all knowing), Omnipotent(able to do everything) and Omnipresent(present everywhere). He helps our past, and our present and is the key to the future. He is our Comforter and our most important friend.
Beloved, there are things you did before He came into your life and is not angry with you over them; He only says “Do them no more” or “Go and sin no more”. Thereafter He said, “Take my yoke upon you and learn of Me”. (Matt 11:28-30). Scripture says do not live in the Spirit alone (i.e demonstrating God’s gift and endowment) but live by the Spirit i.e walk in the Spirit). We grieve Him much when we deny Him the control of our everyday life as He wants.
