Doing GOOD to everyone always

TUESDAY 28TH MARCH, 2017 READ – Day: Gal 3; Night: Num 21-22
HYMN: EMHB 717 – Help us to help each other, Lord,

Christians should have integrity especially among the unbelievers where they live. Paul gave an astonishing exhortation here on how to live amongst believers and unbelievers. God emphasizes that we must live in peace amongst brethren, warning members who are idle to get something doing, resisting revenge, and avoiding situations where one will be drawn into temptation.
The Spirit of retaliation should never exist in the community of God’s people. No Christian should seek to revenge someone who has wronged him because vengeance belongs to God. Prov. 20:22 says: “Do not say ‘I will take revenge’ but wait on the Lord, and He will save you”. What is good to do as Christian believers is to follow what is good. Just as it was written in 1 Peter 3:9 that you should not render insult for insult, but instead blessing, knowing that you were called to this, so that you might inherit a blessing.
Render good deeds to people. Never repay evil for the evil deed someone might have done to you. Follow what is good. As God’s chosen one, you must take every opportunity to do good. Gal. 6:10 says “As we have opportunity, let us do good to all men, particularly to those who are of the household of the faith” i.e. believers, Ministers of God, etc. The Christian’s good must not be focused exclusively on other Christians, your Church members, tribe, family and those very close to you. Rather give willingly, cheerfully and generously to all. You must be careful to maintain good works to all. Even if Christians are treated badly for doing good, be it in your office or elsewhere, those Christians should still maintain good works. In this way they are preserving the salt of society which they are (Matt 5:13). What is good that is expected of you to do is to be good to all.

MEMORY VERSE: 1 Thess. 5:15 “See that none of you repays evil for evil, but always seek to do good to one another and to all”

PRAYER: Grant us the ability to always render Your agape love to everyone near and far away from us in Jesus’ name.
