FRIDAY 24TH FEBRUARY, 2017
THEME: I AM WITH YOU
TEXT: MARK 16:15-20, MATTHEW 28:18-20
HYMN: EMHB 338 – Rescue the perishing, care for the dying
The Great Commission was a mission given by Jesus Christ to His disciples after accomplishing His ministry here on earth. This commission was also extended to the church through Apostolic succession. We are all called into the ministry of spreading the good news of salvation by Word and character.
Jesus is the ultimate sacrifice; in Him we dwell and have our being and through Him we are what we are. This great news of salvation must be spread to all the nooks and crannies of the world. We cannot handle the issue of salvation with triviality. It is the Master’s business which must be handled with passion and total commitment.
Jesus gave us the assurance that He would be with us all the way. When challenges come as a result of preaching the Word, we must be rest assured that He is with us and we must boldly speak the Word.
Let us, therefore, invest our time, talents, intellect, money and even our connections to the preaching of the Word, both in character and words of our mouth. May you have a day full of grace as you go out fishing for men and women today.
MEMORY VERSE: Mark 16:15 “And he said unto them ‘Go you into all the world and preach the
gospel to every creature.”
PRAYER: Lord, give me the grace to use my time and talents for the expansion of Your Kingdom here on earth in Jesus’ name.
