Daily Reflection: WHO IS PRAYING WITH YOU/WEDNESDAY 13TH DECEMBER, 2017

WEDNESDAY 13TH DECEMBER, 2017                                                    READ – DAY: Luke 10; Night: Dan 7-8

THEME: WHO IS PRAYING WITH YOU

TEXT:     MATTHEW 26:41-44

HYMN:  EMHB 289 – Spirit divine, attend our prayers;

Jesus, when his heart was heavy, and could not bear the burden and the pains of His imminent death, called three of His disciples (Peter and the two sons of Zebedee) together (vs. 37) to agree with Him in prayer. That was a prayer of agreement.

Despite the fact that Jesus knows all, He knew He was going to die; why did He pray concerning it? He prayed that the cup should pass over Him.  Why did he call together three of His disciples to pray along with Him? Jesus Christ did all things for us to learn from. Therefore what are the lessons there in?

(a)          We must pray even to the last day of our breath.

(b)          Jesus had earlier taught his disciples the secret of prayer of agreement that whatever two or more agree to pray on it will be done for them (Matt. 18:19.)

Very unfortunately, those whom Jesus called together for a prayer of agreement slept off; they did not understand the agony Jesus was going through. May be if they had prayed with Him; God might have taken another dimension.  Who is your prayer partner? Did he understand your agony or burden? Is he really praying with you or sleeping? Luke 22:45 says “and when He rose from prayer, He came to the disciples and found them sleeping for sorrow”

Beloved, do you understand the importance of having a prayer partner?  Do you have a prayer partner? Be sure your prayer partner understands you and your burden, ensure he understands the importance of praying together or joined hands prayer. Be sure He is praying and not sleeping for sorrow. (Luke. 22:45). Remember Matt. 18:19 “Again I say to you, if two of you agree on earth about anything they ask. It will be done for them by my father in heaven”.

MEMORY VERSE: Math. 26:41 “Watch and Pray that you may not enter into temptation, the spirit is willing; but the flesh is weak”.

PRAYER: Father, lead me through to a prayer partner that will understand me and my burden
