Daily Reflection: WHAT TO DO/FRIDAY 24TH NOVEMBER, 2017

FRIDAY 24TH NOVEMBER, 2017                                               READ – DAY: 1 John 1; Night: Ezk 13-15

THEME: WHAT TO DO

TEXT:    HEBREWS 10:19 – 25

HYMN: EMHB 717 – Help us to help each other, Lord

The challenges that Christians encounter in their journey of faith are often terrifying. At times they pose threats of backsliding. In a time like this, one cannot but ask what to do? We thank God that He has given us the Bible which keeps enlightening us on the action to take and the way to tread at such times. Someone says when it seems as if there is no hope, keep on hoping because without it one will lose faith. God has purchased for us salvation which Jesus accomplished with His vicarious sacrifice on the Cross. This gives us the grace to enter into the Holy of Holies. What to do is to draw nearer to God with a sincere heart and full assurance of faith in the resurrected power. Such is the time when Christians have to be their neighbour’s keeper by supporting one another materially and spiritually.

This is a time when Words of grace and comfort have to be spoken unceasingly; encouraging one another in order not to lose faith in the Lord. Life will be more worth living when Christian fellowship is emphasized and using corporate anointing to attack the kingdom of darkness which always wants us to renounce our faith in the Lord. It is good to fellowship in a Bible-believing Church where truth of the accomplished work of Christ on the Cross is preached and taught; a place where testimonies of the goodness of God are told to raise the hope of others in God that wrought miracles, and where the weak in faith are made strong. What to do in a time like this is not to neglect the assembly of the children of God.

MEMORY VERSE: Heb. 10:23 “Let us hold tightly without wavering to the hope we affirm, for God can be trusted to keep His promise.”

PRAYER: Faithful God teach us by the power of the Holy Spirit to take the right step in lifting others up in faith in Jesus’ name. Amen.
