TEXT:     1 CORINTHIANS 2: 6 – 16

HYMN: EMHB 300 – Breathe on me Breath of God

The Bible records that when the Lord formed man from the dust of the ground He breathed into his nostrils the breath of life, and man became a living being. The Oxygen and carbon dioxide we breathe in and out respectively are given to us freely. Just as we receive natural free gift from God likewise things of the Spirit. God gives His only begotten Son freely to us through whose death and resurrection we have salvation. Our salvation is a free gift from God. To belong to Christ does not cost a dime. Just confess Him as your Lord and Saviour and your name is written in the Book of Life!

The knowledge of technology that brings changes into the world system daily is acquired by payment of fees either as an apprentice or as a student. The Bible unequivocally makes it clear that we have the Holy Spirit as free gift from God which only comes by asking (Matt. 7: 11). No one can understand the secret things of God except the person has received the Holy Spirit as his/her guidance. You will not appreciate what God has freely given until you have the Holy Spirit. The Word of God is a free gift of God to humanity, but many see it as a history book, or an ordinary literature because such people do not have the Holy Spirit. The word of both Logos and Rhema are spiritually discerned and it is only the Spirit that interprets their activities and only the person who has the Spirit that can understand.

What God freely gives to us is the Spirit. You can only know this when you have Jesus Christ as your Lord and Saviour.

MEMORY VERSE: 1 Cor. 2: 9 “But as it is written, What no eye has seen, nor ear heard, nor the heart of man conceived (is) what God has prepared for those who love Him.”

PRAYER: Father, kindly fill Your Church with the Holy Spirit so that believers can clearly understand the deep things of Your heavenly Kingdom in Jesus’ name. Amen.
