THEME: THE WIND OF CHANGE
TEXT: 2 THESSALONIANS 2:13-17
MEMORY VERSE: 2 THESSALONIANS 2:15 “Therefore, brethren, stand fast, and hold the traditions which ye have been taught, whether by Word, or our epistle.”
1Peter 2:10 says “Once you were not a people, but now you are God’s people; Once you have not received mercy but now have received mercy”. Here Peter was speaking to you and to me about our position when we come to Christ. When we come and one submitted to Him, everything about us must change: The only thing we need to do is to stand firm so that we do not derail. Coming to Christ Jesus is a wonderful change of life and that change is not a very simple one; it is a great change. Jesus did not bring just any type of life upon us; He brings eternal life which cannot be equaled to any other type of life, so, it is a great change from the former life to a new one.
It is also a new concept in mind, body, and soul. It transforms every part of us and takes us into a mighty and powerful realm of life and living; it is a great change. It also makes us to be partakers of the eternal inheritance of the saints in glory. It is a great wind of change. One other thing is that it bestows on us the rare privilege to be called the children of the Most High God. It is, indeed, beyond description for everyone who has it.
To obtain glory at the end of this heavenly race, we must stand fast and hold tenaciously to the doctrines preached by our Lord Jesus Christ. Our faith must be derived from Jesus Christ like the Corinthians in this text. We must be very careful not to be swept away by the sugar-quoted words of fake prophets who have been using magical powers to perform their so-called miracles. Keep to the tenets of this change so that we can complete it and achieve its purpose. Read it personally as if Paul is talking to you one on one.
