SATURDAY 2ND DECEMBER, 2017 READ – DAY: Luke 2:1-21; Night: Ezk 31-32
THEME: SIN, A HINDRANCE TO FAITH
TEXT: ROMANS 6:19-23, GALATIANS 6:7-10
HYMN: EMHB 353 – Just as I am without one plea
There may have been many spiritual principles we have applied to life and things we requested from God but the results sometimes failed. Application of spiritual principles may not help to solve challenges of life when SIN is in your life. Sometimes ago, a man cried to his pastor after failing severally on a life task: “What can I do to overcome this life task and challenge”? The pastor asked him to examine his life and remove sins which he could identify. He went away and was able to do what the pastor said. The result was that he overcame the challenge and life task. He had a bountiful testimony.
Galatians 6: 7 in our reading says “Be not deceived God is not mocked for whatever a man sows, that he will reap.” Also Romans 6:19-23 read in the scripture this morning discourages all believers from being attached to sin. He who sins is not of God and God won’t be pleased with such a person. Sin sometimes makes your faith to wane. It also pushes man away from God. Remember the closer you are to God, the closer your faith and your miracle to you.
Finally, Beloved in the Lord, what have you been asking from the Lord that you are yet to receive? What have you been praying for as the year is about to an end? I assure you it is not too late for God to grant your desires if you remove SIN from your life. Make today a day of decision that all your sins shall not come to life again.
MEMORY VERSE: Romans 6:23 “For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord”.
PRAYER: Lord, as the Year 2017 is about to end, help me to overcome the power of sin in my life in Jesus’ name.
