THURSDAY 5TH OCTOBER, 2017 READ – DAY: Col 2; Night: Isaiah 45-47
THEME: LET CHRIST BE FORMED IN YOU
TEXT: 1 JOHN 3:8-20
HYMN: EMHB 300 – Breath on me breath of God.
God’ desire at the beginning of creation, was to have a perfect universe and therefore made the man in His own image. But because the devil, according to 1 John 3:8, has been sinning from the beginning he (devil) entered into man to corrupt his mind.
However, God gave the remedy in verse 8b, that “Anyone who continues to sin belongs to the devil, because, the Son of God came for this, to destroy the devil’s work. This is not to say that we were without sin but having experienced the life of Christ, we must make effort to remain in Christ and be like Christ”.
The very acceptable way Christ can be formed in us is by loving the Lord with our heart, mind, spirit, soul and body. If we are able to maintain this relationship, we shall become the carrier of God’s presence and sin will not have a space to perch in our life.
Today, you can take a deliberate step to go higher in the Lord. And if you have not acknowledged Him as Lord before, you can do it now for He stands with open hands to receive you. Remain blessed as you take this opportunity to make a difference.
MEMORY VERSE: Galatians 4:19 “My little children, I am in pain again over you, like a mother giving birth. I will feel this pain until people can look at you and see Christ”.
PRAYER: Lord Jesus, I desire to be like You but I am weak. Transform my weakness to strength and strength into Your nature that people may see You in me in the name of Christ, our Lord. Amen.
