DAILY REFLECTION: In the Latter Days

FRIDAY 31ST MARCH, 2017 READ – Day: Gal 6; Night: Num 27-28
HYMN: EMHB 823 – Our life is hid with Christ in God;
In the midst of an evil day in which Micah prophesied, this message of hope was given for a new era of peace on earth. The messianic hope that was given from the preacher was also given to the people in Jerusalem by Isaiah in Isaiah 2:1-5. The last day is when God will reign over His perfect kingdom. It is the era of peace, and blessings when there will be no more war.
There are nine events associated with the last days:
(1) The Return of Christ (1 Thess. 4:15-16)
(2) The dead raised
(3) Those living are changed (1 Cor. 15:51, 52)
(4) Christ rules (Rev. 11:15)
(5) Angry Nation
(6) God’s wrath
(7) The Dead Judged
(8) Rewards Given
(9) Sinners destroyed (Rev. 11:18)
The above nine things are the primary events accompanying the consummation of the Church age, and the coming of the millennial or kingdom age.
Just as God promised a time of peace and prosperity, He also promised judgment and punishment for all who refuse to follow Him. Before these times come it will be good for you to turn to the Lord. (Psalm 22:27) “All the ends of the world shall remember and turn to the Lord”. The present days are evil, sins are no longer a scared thing. We are seeing new inventions, and truly we are in the perilous days. And this calls for you to be much closer to God than ever. Regular church attendance does not qualify you to be a partaker of these peace and blessings reserved for the believers but following Christ, and serving Him truthfully. These are what would qualify you for His peace and blessings.
MEMORY VERSE: Micah 4:1 “It shall come to pass in the latter days that the mountain of the house of the Lord shall be established as the highest of the mountains”.
PRAYER: Father, help us to serve You as we ought to so that our hope of Your heavenly blessings will be achieved.
