SATURDAY 29TH APRIL, 2017 READ – Day: Mark 5; Night: Josh 23-24
THEME: GREATER LOVE
TEXT: ROMANS 5:6-11
HYMN: EMHB 371 – And can it be that I should gain…
Do you realise that He paid the ultimate price? Death! Woo, how can you measure the depth, the width and the height of the love He expressed by the great exchange that He made for us? He practically replaced Himself for us. Life for life! What should then be our response to this great love? Should we continue in the essence of what He reclaimed us from by His death? For the passage says while we were yet sinners Christ died for us.
The question then is, are you still not a sinner? Is Christ still dying for you? He had died as an expression of His great love to pay for the consequences of your previous sins. The only way to acknowledge and return the good turn that deserves another is for you not to nail Him again to the cross by turning away from your sins (Heb. 6:6).
MEMORY VERSE: John 15:13 “Greater love has no one than this, that he lay down his for his friends.”
PRAYER: Great love you demonstrated, may you help to reciprocate this love with my lifestyle.
