FRIDAY 10TH NOVEMBER, 2017 READ – DAY: Heb 5-6; Night: Jer 34-36
THEME: GOD’S WILL CANNOT BE ALTERED
TEXT: NUMBERS 22: 1 – 20
HYMN: EMHB 528 – In heavenly love abiding
One of the gospel songs says “when Jesus says ‘Yes,’ nobody can say ‘No’ “When Jesus lifts you up, nobody can bring me down.” This song attests to the fact that God’s will cannot be altered. It is God’s will for Israel to leave Egypt, the land of bondage, oppression and depression. God has blessed them through Abraham, Isaac and Jacob. Whatever God uttered cannot change, too. His promise is Yea and Amen. “Balak was frightened with Israel’s population that would pass through his land to the Promised Land. He had no military power to withstand them. He decided to attack them with pagan divination. He engaged Balaam who had international reputation in cursing or blessing. The anointing on Israel is more than that of Balaam, therefore God instructed Him not to curse the people He had blessed. The God of Israel is more powerful than the deities that Balaam worshipped.
You need to know that if you belong to Jesus Christ you are blessed beyond the power of divination. Stop fidgeting about the attack of principalities and powers. The anointing of God on your life cannot permit change of your destiny by the wicked people of the world. Joseph was sold to slavery by his brothers to kill his dream of becoming their leader. Despite the troubles Joseph went through, what God said was fulfilled in his life. Remember the plan of the Sanhedrin to prevent the resurrection of Jesus but their plan proved abortive; Jesus resurrected as God had purposed. Jesus that is in you is greater than the power that attempts to attack (I John 4: 4). God’s will for you is to be more than the conqueror.
MEMORY VERSE: Numbers 22: 18. “But Balaam answered and said to the servants of Balak, Though Balak were to give me his house full of silver and gold, I could not go beyond the command of the Lord my God, to do less or more.”
PRAYER: Eternal Father, nullify every plan of the enemy to kill my destiny and blow them into oblivion like the chaff before the wind in Jesus’ name. Amen.
