DAILY REFLECTION: From Sorrow to Joy

THURSDAY 30TH MARCH, 2017 READ – Day: Gal 5; Night: Num 26
HYMN: EMHB 322 – Sinners Jesus will receive,

The last meeting of Jesus Christ with His disciples was astonishing, and emotional. They understood enough of what Jesus said to have great sorrow about His statements concerning His leaving. It was time for our Lord, Jesus Christ, to return to God from where He came into this world. However, the disciples were grieved over Jesus talk of His death because they accepted Him as the Christ and Son of God.
Notwithstanding, Jesus promised that their sorrow would be turned to joy as a woman’s pain in child birth is turned to joy after the birth of the infant. When they see Jesus again after His resurrection they will forget the sorrow they had at the time of His crucifixion. Christ bore all our sorrows, pains, and grief on the Cross. His resurrection is a testimony that He will turn your mourning to dancing again. Isa. 66:14 says “Behold, my servants shall rejoice, but you (the enemies) shall be put to shame”. Joy is what God desires for us as Christians. God never intended that you live in sorrow.
The disciples were glad when they saw the Lord; their sorrow vanished. Their joy was restored. When you accept Christ as your Lord, and personal Saviour, every sorrow terminates in your life. But when you refuse Christ in your life, you close the door to lasting joy in your life. Accepting Jesus Christ into your life ends sorrow in your life, then joy begins. Will you offer Him your life today, and terminate sorrow from your life? Earn joy unspeakable now that you make Jesus Christ your Lord and personal Saviour.

MEMORY VERSE: John 16:22 “So you have sorrow now, but I will see you again, and your hearts will rejoice, and no one will take your joy from you”

PRAYER: Lord, fill our hearts with Your unspeakable joy, and banish from our hearts all manner of sorrow and pain in Jesus’ name. Amen.
