WEDNESDAY 25TH OCTOBER, 2017 READ – DAY: John 9; Night: 2 King 24-25
THEME: FROM ASH HEAP TO GLORY
TEXT: GENESIS 39:20-23
HYMN: EMHB 527 – Sometimes a light surprises
We serve a God who keeps in perfect peace those whose heart and trust are on Him. This meant that no matter the raging storms around you, as far as you know your God, you will do exploits and will not be consumed.
From our text, we saw how Joseph’s master took him, and put him into the prison for an offence he did not commit, but right there, the LORD was with Joseph. He didn’t merely show him mercy, he also favoured him in the sight of the jailer who committed to Joseph’s hand all the prisoners that were in the prison. What high level of confidence did the jailer have on Joseph! The Lord did not cease to prosper Joseph, even in the prison. This season, anywhere you go, God shall prosper you and manifest His glory in your life, in Jesus’ name.
What pain are you going through because of your faith in the Omnipotent God? Joseph would not sin against God and sleep with his master’s wife to enjoy temporary pleasure which brings no happiness. Daniel and his friends would not bow to the graven image though their lives were threatened. These men and many other great characters, were ready to lose their lives for the sake of God, and God did not forsake them. There are still many men who are living uprightly for Jesus. Are you one of them? Then brace up! The God whom you serve is right on your side to carry you through to your glorious destiny. God is still in the business of making right all wrongs. He is that God of possibility. All He is asking today is that on Him your faith be built and all your trust rest on Him. He has never forsaken and will not start with you. Repent from that sin, fear, rage and revenge and seek the Lord today. He is the miracle you need to change the unpleasant situation in your life to glory. Are you lost in that deadly disease or sickness? Is it poverty? Have your friends failed? There is a God who turns a man or any situation from ash heap to glory. He raiseth up the poor out of the dust, and lifteth up the beggar from the dunghill, to set them among princes, and to make them inherit the throne of glory: for the pillars of the earth are the Lord’s, and He hath set the world upon them.
Stop complaining. Stop murmuring. Stop blaming others for your present situation. He is saying to you today, call upon Me and I will answer whatsoever I hear you say, and show you great and mighty things you do not know. Be positive in your thinking and always make positive confessions. God shall surely turn all your shame to fame and glorious celebration in Jesus’ name. Prepare to share your testimony!
MEMORY VERSE: “He raiseth up the poor out of the dust, and lifteth up the beggar from the dunghill, to set them among princes, and to make them inherit the throne of glory: for the pillars of the earth are the Lord’s, and He hath set the world upon them.”- 1Samuel 2:8
PRAYER: My Father and my God, intervene in my situation and turn my shame to fame and glory, in Jesus’ name.
