FRIDAY 24TH MARCH, 2017 READ – Day: 2 Cor 9-10; Night: Num 14-15
THEME: THE CERTAINTY OF GOD’S GRACIOUSNESS
TEXT: ISAIAH 30:18-23
HYMN: EMHB 66 – O God of all grace,
To be gracious means to show love, to be merciful, to be kind, and to grant favour. God has never failed in any area. He fulfills all His promises for His own. The graciousness of God is very certain for the righteous. Ephesians 1:6 says: “To the praise of the glory of His grace by which He has made us accepted in the Beloved”. We cannot be made acceptable to God through the merit of our own obedience (Eph. 2:8-10).
God made us, and He does not plan that His hand work should suffer. He made many promises that you must be claiming for your life daily from the scriptures. God loves us hence we are not consumed. His mercy endures forever. “Commit your way to the Lord. Trust also in Him and He will bring His promises to pass before you” (Ps 37:5). God’s graciousness will bring to pass whatsoever a believer in Christ commits into His care. God is gracious to us, but there are hindrances which can prevent us from receiving His graciousness. They include sin, unbelief, pride, laziness in reading God’s Word and all the unholy things on our ways.
However, through the grace of God that was revealed on the Cross, those who have chosen to respond through obedience to the gospel, are made acceptable to God through the blood of Jesus (Rom. 3:24, 25). All those who are in Christ, therefore, are reconciled to God through Jesus. Choose to follow Jesus Christ today and you will receive His mercy.
MEMORY VERSE: Psalm 86:15 “But Thou, O Lord, art a God merciful and gracious, slow to anger, and abounding in steadfast love, and faithfulness”.
PRAYER: God of grace, let Your unspeakable grace continue to speak for me and my family today and always. Amen.
