MONDAY 27TH MARCH, 2017 READ – Day: Gal 1-2; Night: Num 19-20
THEME: CAN GOD VOUCH FOR YOU?
TEXT: JOB 1:1-6
HYMN: EMHB 630 – O grant us light, that we may know
Job was a perfect man, one who feared God because he loved Him. Job was an upright man, who gave no room for evil. God was not on the lookout for Job’s affluence, but He saw the light in him (Job). Job’s light was what brought wealth, and blessings into his life. With all he had, and with all the trials and tribulations that befell him, he overcame the devil, and his latter days were even better than his beginning.
Letting one’s light shine is not to be puffing around or be “holier than thou” in attitude. As a Christian, are you a beacon of light among unbelievers in your community? How do you conduct your life? Do you have family altar like Job of old? God saw in Job a man of Prayer. He was blessed at last. What God sees in you will attract His blessings into your life if you are committed to His ways. And this is God’s light that shines in your life. No man can hide a light; it can be seen from afar off. If we live for Christ, we will glow like light, showing others what Christ is like. A Christian’s light can grow dim, be hidden or get snuffed out if:
(i) He/she allows sin into his/her life;
(ii) When one denies the Light and
(iii) When one refuses to speak about the light to others.
God wants you to shine His light among men (Matt 5:16). It is a common knowledge that the world no longer reads the Bible, but it studies the Christians. Don’t shut your light off from the rest of the world. It is what God sees in you.
MEMORY VERSE: Matthew 5:16 “Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father who is in Heaven”.
PRAYER: O Lord, let my light shine far and wide and never to enter into darkness in Jesus’ name. Amen.
