THURSDAY 14TH DECEMBER, 2017                                        READ – DAY: Luke 11:1-32; Night: Dan 9-10

THEME:  BIBLICAL TRUTH ON TEMPTATION

TEXT:      1 CORINTHIANS 10:13-15

HYMN:   EMHB 475 – I need thee every hour,

Many Christians or believers fall off the sideway when temptations or trials come to them. I remember years back when a brother was giving a testimony in the Church. Tears rolled down my eyes because what he went through I could not stand it. It was beyond my faith; the brother explained his patience, prayer life and all the things he was able to do when the problem was atits peak.  As tears was rolling down my eyes, – I remembered scriptures that consoled my soul and made the tears cease.

(a) Temptation is part of our Christian race; Jesus was tempted (Matt. 4:1-11.)

(b) Temptation is always for a purpose and it does not last, one day it shall cease.

(c) True believers and heroes of faith that overcome temptation are promoted strengthened and rewarded; Job inclusive. He was restored twice. Job 42:10

(d) No matter how heavy your trial or temptation is, be not afraid – God knows about it. You will not die in it but overcome if you stand.

(e) God will not allow temptation that is higher than your faith to come your way. (1Cor. 10:13)

Cheer up brother, cheer up sister, congratulations! You are an overcomer!  Temptation comes anytime, it takes grace and divine courage to go ahead. All this can be given to you through prayer, study of the scripture and ever increasing faith.

Once again cheer up.  It is well with you in Jesus’ name. Don’t forget – all who overcome shall receive reward here on earth and more in heaven.   On a final note: No matter how heavy your temptation God has a way out for you.

MEMORY VERSE: 1 Cor. 10:13 “No temptation has overtaken you that is not common to man. God is faithful, and He will not let you be tempted beyond your strength; but with the temptation will also provide the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it”

PRAYER: Father Stand by me in Jesus’ name to overcome all my temptations in life.
