THURSDAY 15Th JUNE, 2015 READ – DAY: Rev 19-20; Night: Psalm 66-68
THEME: ALL THINGS ARE YOURS
TEXT: 1 CORINTHIANS 3: 18 – 23
HYMN: EMHB 89 – Father, who on man dost shower gifts of plenty from Thy dower
Every good and perfect gift belongs to God and He gives liberally to all men, especially to those who put their trust in Him. They that put their trust in influential men of this world shall be disappointed because of the futility of human wisdom.
Those who feel they are wise in their own eyes by analysing the scripture to suit their reasoning while doubting the authenticity of God’s Word should stop playing fools because the foolishness of God is wiser than man’s-wisdom. (verse 19)
God, in His infinite love and mercies, has provided everything man needs for his comfort and living. God makes available all our needs through His chosen vessels so that no living being will boast in His presence.
No one takes the honour to himself except that which is given to him by the Almighty God. God is the foundation of knowledge and wisdom. Therefore, whoever thirsts should ask of Him that gives liberally. God makes all things beautiful in its time and for His own glory.
Let us, therefore, accept all things God has given us and use them to His glory. This, indeed, is the authority of a believer.
MEMORY VERSE: 1 Cor. 3:21 “So let no one boast of men, for all things are yours”
PRAYER: Lord, shower us with Your abundant blessings from above and protect us from the futility of man’s wisdom. Amen.
