Theme: A NEW SONG
Text: Psalm 33:1-22
Memory Verse: Psalm 96:2,;”Sing unto the LORD, bless His name; shew forth His salvation from day to day.”
Why sing a new song? What’s the excitement about a new song? What if the new song is not as melodious as the old ones? A new song, according to the Psalmist, is to be accompanied with skilful playing (Psalm 33:3). Every new song articulating the greatness of God is sweet in the ears of God. A new song from any of God’s children is melodious to God. A new song that tells of the glory of God is pleasant to God. No matter how bad you think your voice is, God feels honoured to hear His praise in the mouth of His saints. Even if as an elder your voice is cracking He enjoys your new song composed as an expression of His loving-kindness. You cannot claim to be too little or insignificant to glorify Him for ‘Out of the mouth of babes and sucklings Thou hast perfected praise?’ (Matt 21:16).
Hymn: EMHB 114 – LET earth and heaven agree
Prayer: Give me a new song to sing every day, O Lord, and help me always to sing to Your praise in Jesus’ name. Amen
