FRIDAY 15TH DECEMBER, 2017                                                 READ – DAY: Luke 11:33-54; Night: Dan 10-12

TEXT:      PSALM 103:1-5

HYMN: EMHB 948 – Abide with me; fast falls the eventide;

As the year draws to a close, many are the things that have happened to you positively or negatively since the year began. Despite all, somebody spared your life – No other person that has done this than your Creator who also created the heaven and the earth.  Your Creator is the Alpha and The Omega. He knows the end from the beginning. The best of all things at this hour of your life in the year; as written in the topic of our devotion today is a heart of gratitude to Him.  A phrase in a chorus asks, can the dead praise Him?’ Beloved, you are not dead but alive. So you must show a heart of gratitude of praise to the Almighty God. Verse 2 of the text states: “Forget not all His benefits. Verse 3 says He forgives all your sins and heals all your diseases”.

Count your sins this year; He blotted all with the blood of His Son, Jesus Christ, He repelled enemies attacks on you and your household. He was able to make you overcome them all.  The challenges of this concluding year He made you more than able to conquer; therefore nothing He expects from you more than a heart of appreciation, gratitude and thanksgiving.

Don’t forget He spared your life for a purpose; for no other reason than for you to praise, honour and glorify Him with a heart of gratitude. If you praise Him more He will do more in your life. Show Him your gratitude today and forever. Humble yourself before Him and offer whatever you have with a heart of gratitude, and it shall continue to be well with you in Jesus name.

MEMORY VERSE:  Psalm 103:1 “Bless the Lord, O my soul: and all that is within me; bless His holy name!

PRAYER: Father, give to me a grateful heart to praise You forever in Jesus’ name.
