THEME: ARE YOU MAKING PROFIT?
TEXT: MATT 25:14-23
Memory Verse: Matt 14:20 “They all ate and were satisfied, and the disciples picked up twelve basketfuls of broken pieces that were left over”
We often hear some parents or guardians, in the mood of provocation, call their children or wards “good-for-nothing”. Maybe you have been a victim of such emotional outburst and anger? The truth is nobody can rightfully be called “good-for-nothing” because we are all fearfully, wonderfully and thoughtfully made. We are uniquely made to fulfill a purpose on earth.
The first most important breakthrough in life is knowing the purpose of God for your life. It is unfortunate that so many people do not discover the peculiar goldmines in their lives, and how they can explore what they are ignorant about for the benefit of their lives and others around them! The ‘talents’ in us are to be discovered, branded through God’s grace to add value, and traded with, to bring profit to one who gave us the talents.
People in business know the value of returns on investment. Any investment that is not justifying the efforts put into it is not worth continuing with it. In fact, after series of failed expectations, such an investment may be re-deployed to other more profitable ventures. You are an investment. God has invested so much into your life and He is expecting good returns. Is your life justifying the kind benevolence of God? Are you a blessing to humanity? Is God making profit from your life? Please look inward and consider the paths of your life. Otherwise, the owner of the ‘talents’ would come at a time you least expect, asking you to give an account of your stewardship. Are you making profit?
Conclusively, sing the hymn 300– Breathe on me, Breath of God
PRAYER: Lord, help me to discover and use my talents for Your glory. Amen.
